As much as I love slow summer mornings, there comes a point when everyone needs to get out of the house. I start looking for something that will keep my kids entertained, engaged, and having fun for more than just an hour.
That's exactly why kidSTREAM Children's Museum is on our summer list.
"From the moment we walked through the doors, my kids were off on their own adventures."
From the moment we walked through the doors, my kids were off on their own adventures. One minute they were digging for fossils, the next they were building, creating, pretending, climbing, and asking a million questions. The interactive exhibits are inspired by Ventura County's coast, agriculture, and natural environment, making it an easy opportunity to teach them about the land they call home.

More Than Just Exhibits
One of my favorite things about kidSTREAM is that the fun doesn't stop at the exhibits. Museum educators are stationed throughout the museum, helping kids bring their creations to life with hands-on activities. I noticed they encouraged little ones to be more social, experiment, and try something new.
The Discovery Cart can be found outside and offers rotating activities that let kids dive into new topics. We felt like true explorers learning about various wild animal footprints pressed in kinetic sand.
Inside, the Creative Lab features themed projects that give kids the freedom to create whatever their imagination inspires. During one of our trips, hand-made air cannons rocketed across the room, while others practiced their geometry and cutting skills by participating in a paper chain challenge. A new feature to the indoor space is the Community Art Studio- another great spot for families to slow down and make something together.
And if you have a little one who loves to read a good story, Story Time takes place every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM. It's the perfect way to ease into a morning of exploring!
kidSTREAM is also committed to making the museum accessible to more families. Through the ACCESS program, qualifying families can enjoy admission for just $3 per guest with a valid EBT or WIC card and photo ID.
