Most local water attractions — from splash pads to beaches — open around Memorial Day and stay open through Labor Day, making them the perfect escape for those hot summer days with the kids.

Check out our curated list of splash pads, pools, water parks, and beaches in and around Camarillo, Ventura, and Oxnard — plus a few spots worth a day trip!

Pleasant Valley Aquatic Center

The pool holds approximately 210,000 gallons of water, has eight swimming lanes, a one-meter diving board, a 65-foot spiral waterslide, a hydraulic lift and outside patio. The pool is 25 yards in length and heated between 81 and 83 degrees.

Public use of the pool is currently by reservation only. Masks must be worn everywhere in the facility except when you are in the water.

Community Pool at CLU 

The 140,500-gallon lighted community pool occupies 4,800 square feet with varying depths of three to five feet. Also included is a 1,350 square foot building with two restrooms, chemical room, mechanical room, administrative area, and a 675 square foot shade structure. Pool is heated up to 84º.

Located immediately behind the gymnasium on the campus of Thousand Oaks High School. The competition pool is ten lanes wide and 25 yards in the North-South direction. The pool is 25 meters wide and the depth is 4 feet at the shallow end and 13 feet in the diving area. There are three springboards; two 1-meter and one 3-meter in height for diving. The small instructional pool is for children six years of age and under

Lake Casita Water Park 

Opening day, May 24th, 2025. The Casitas Water Adventure is open throughout the summer months. Children and adults alike can enjoy two distinct water playgrounds. For the younger children, a multi-level jungle gym with waterfalls, bridges and slides in a lagoon with water up to 18" deep. There is also a lazy river. Parents can relax in a shady spot while the children play, or join their youngsters for a "splashing" good time.

Hurricane Harbor 

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, a 22-acre waterpark located next door to Six Flags Magic Mountain, features over 1.5 million gallons of water in a tropically themed paradise. Enjoy two of the tallest full-enclosed speed slides in Southern California, a relaxing 1,300-foot river cruise, a wave pool, an interactive lagoon, and a splashy kid play area. The park operates seasonally May – September. The park reopened the  Members and Pass holders on May 15-16, and to the general public on May 22, 2021.

Great Wolf Lodge 

The Great Wolf Lodge water park here in Southern California is located in Garden Grove (which is just past Anaheim by the way), it's easily accessible from all major freeways . 

The SoCal hotel was built in 2016 . The hotel has over 600 suites and you MUST be staying in the hotel to access the water park ( due to COVID )  and its FOURTEEN slides that includes surfing and play in real waves created by their wave machine!

Raging Waters 

Raging Waters Los Angeles is California’s best and largest waterpark! This 60-acre waterpark in the Los Angeles area has been recognized by USA Today as a “Top 10 Water Park” and is home to more than 50 world-class rides, slides and several attractions for all ages to enjoy, including Aqua Rocket, the state’s only hydromagnetic water coaster! Open mid-May through late September, Raging Waters is the best place for water slides in Los Angeles, to keep cool, enjoy special events, family dining options, and a whole summer of fun! Currently it required reservations .

Knott Soak City 

Knott’s Soak City Waterpark is a separately gated 15- acre water adventure park immediately adjacent to Knott’s Berry Farm. Soak City boasts 23 speed, tube and body slides including Shore Break featuring 6 different waterslide experiences and a thrilling family raft ride, The Wedge; the 750,000-gallon Tidal Wave Bay wavepool; a one‑third‑mile Sunset River; and the three‑story Beach House, featuring 200 water guns, nozzles, sprayers and other interactive surprises. Soak City is open mid-May through early-September. Separate admission required.



Dry Town

DryTown Water Park is the Antelope Valley's best place to take kids, and the best place for wet and wild fun! With six beautifully landscaped acres of attractions, we offer family fun for everyone. Grab a tube and head down Big Rock River, or race for the win on the super-fast Dusty’s Mineshaft Racer. Younger kids will have a blast splashing around Little Miner’s Camp, while thrill seekers will enjoy twisting and turning down DryTown’s thrilling slides. There is fun for everyone!
